Art Alley-Gator: Uniting Community Through the Largest Street Mural in Louisiana
Completed in 2025, the "Art Alley-Gator" embodies the vibrant spirit and cultural ecosystem of Art Alley, Monroe, Louisiana. Serving as a gathering place for creatives, artists, and cultural makers, Art Alley is a critical component of artistic landscape of Northeast Louisiana. The iconic alligator, surrounded by native wildlife, musical and artistic components, and elements of Downtown Monroe, reflects Art Alley and Northeast Louisiana's deep roots in the arts and nature - celebrating the rich traditions that make the community so unique. This project was funded by a grant from the Department of Transportation's Thriving Communities Program, highlighting pedestrian-friendly spaces and encouraging public art as a tool for safety, beautification, and place-making.
Art Alley-Gator is 232 ft long x 26 ft wide, 6,032 square ft.
